So you have done your research? You now know SVRS is where you want to be? Saving lives, helping the community, and making life-long friends is what you are seeking? One of the last remaining steps is to apply! Below is a link to the SVRS application. We do need to advise you a few things before you fill out the application. (1) Only complete applications will be examined for membership. Please make every effort to double check your application to make sure all sections are complete. (2) Be sure to include any certifications you may already obtained. (3) Please make sure all documents are included in your application. (4) Make sure the application is either scan and e-mailed, or hand delivered or mailed to the correct location. So without further delay:
The SVRS Application
- Print the application one-sided, preferably in color.
- All sections of the application must be completed and signed.

Complete ONLY the yellow highlighted sections of the Virginia DMV Form CRD 93 that is part of the application packet. You must complete and sign this form, even if you only have a learners permit or do not have a drivers license.
- Attach a clear copy of your drivers license/learners permit/photo ID.
- Attach copies of any current CPR, Virginia and/or National Registry EMT-B or higher, and EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator) certifications. Do not include any other certifications unless requested.
- When you have completed the application please mail it to Volunteer Recruiter, Spotsylvania Fire, REscue, and Emergency Management, PO Box 818, Spotsylvania, VA, 22553. Do NOT drop it off at any Fire/Rescue station.
- Virginia OEMS regulations require anyone applying for either a paid or volunteer position in the EMS field to submit fingerprints for a criminal background check. Spotsylvania County also requires a urine drug test prior to starting. You will be notified of the procedures for this requirements after your application is received.
